I went to visit my parents and I borrowed my father's Honda minivan. As I was adjusting the seat and mirrors, I noticed the moon roof was open, which it turns out my Dad had left it open from earlier in the day when he got back from golfing. And there had been a quick downpour between then and when I got in. Now the signal lights do not work, and neither do the power door locks. I opened the passenger and driver's side fuse boxes, and the corresponding fuses seem to be intact, but I noticed when i opened the box on the driver's side there were a few water droplets.... could it be water damage, and if so, is it easily repaired or is the dealership going to ding my father with a huge labor bill?
A: Carefully wipe down the waterspots, make sure you don't get electrocuted. Then give everything some time to dry. I had the same problem with my Caprice once. The door locks started working again after everything was dried out. If you end up having to take it to the dealer to have it fixed, your dad is sure to get reemed.

A: If you buy a used odyssey from the dealership be sure your contract states you have a free loan car when it needs repair and be sure to read it in the contract. The Odyssey is general a good truck to have.Don't forget just in case you also have lemon law rights with this one as well. Q: 2007 Honda Odyssey? AUX?
My dad drives a '07 Honda Van (Standard) and I was wondering where the AUX plug/connector is. Can you plug in an IPOD or MP3?
I've looked through a couple of car forums and some people say there is no plug and some say there are.
So is there a plug? and if not, what is the AUX for anyway?
A: There is not an AUX jack for the 07. It became standard in 08 and will take the place of one of the power plugs in the lower part in the center stack.

Go to a Radio Shack or local electronics store and pick up the cable. Make sure it is a stereo double male and attach one end to your source(iPod) and the other to the AUX jack and you'll be good to go.

Purchased 5/07. Within one week, the alternator had to be replaced and we noticed that the body was not aligned properly. (The hood and front bumper are off by about a half-inch..we were told that there were no adjustments possible to fix the problem). 2 weeks later car began shaking at high speeds and pulling to the right. Since then, the dealer has balanced tires 4 tmes, replaced both front axles and performed EIGHT alignments. The car still pulls to the side and the steering wheel is crooked.
I did contact a lawyer today to begin the lemon law process, but I am wondering if there are any mechanics out there who have any educated guesses as to the root of these problems. Could this car have been droppped and possibly suffered a bent frame during manufacturing or transport? Any input would be greatly appreciated. We spread ourselves very thin financially to buy our first brand new car because we thought the cost would be worth a peace of mind....HA!
A: Have they checked the suspension bushings? A bad bushing can cause this problem, but its the last thing anybody thinks of, especially on a car that new.

A: Not that it makes your situation any better your van was built in the United States. Love when people comment on things they have no idea about. Anyways.....you have a manual called consumer information that came with the vehicle, it describes lemon laws based on the state you are in. It will tell you what steps to take. As angry as you prob. are with the dealer its not their fault. Corporate will take care of the problem.
Q: Problems w/humming noise in Honda Odyssey 2007?
My HO 2007 has about 1000 miles. It makes this humming noise. Dealer says it's normal; some cars are louder or quieter. There's nothing they can do about it. They checked external parts - they're OK. It sounds like the exhaust system is bad. (A-Pipe, my friend-mechanic says). It's very annoying and will become unbearable soon. Please advise what to do and how to make the dealer fix it...
A: Have you driven other Odysseys? Do they all have this same noise? If you haven't driven others, then go back to the dealership and drive another '07 Odyssey to compare.
If the noise is present in that one also, then you may be stuck (or it could be noisy stock tires, something like that).
If the noise isn't present in the other Odyssey, then absolutely, take yours back to the dealer until it is fixed properly. If that dealer won't service it, then take it to another and report the original dealer to Honda corporate.
