Q: How do I remove the 2008 Honda Odyssey front bumper?
I got a dent in the corner and I would like to try banging it out.
A: Ithere are a series of bolts, screws and clips that have to be removed for the front grille cover and the bumper to remove the bumper. its not easy to explain in this medium.
I can get you a scan of the directions to remove the bumper if you need them. I cannot attach a file to a Yahoo Answer so you will have to send me an email with the email address you would like me to send a pdf file to if you want the instructions. to do that you can click on the icon above my name to the left of this answer. then click on 'email' in the upper right of the profile page. enter your information in the email. that way we keep my email address and your's out of the searchable Yahoo Answer database.
hope that helps
Q: What does Exclamation Point light in my Honda Odyssey 2008 means?
Hi, I have a honda odssey 2008. I noticed a light indicator in the dashboard came on and that is (exclamation point inside the circle). Can you tell me what does this light means? and is this something I should worry about and take it back to the dealer where we purchased the vehicle? Thank you very much in advance. - Don
A: Don - Is the exclamation point in a horseshoe/ U shaped figure?? That is the TPMS saying your tire pressure is low. If the exclamation point is in a triangle the VSA button is off.
From your explanation, it's the TPMS... just add some air to your tires.
Q: 2008 Honda Odyssey owners..tell me if you love your van!?
We are getting ready to buy a minivan and it is down to the Honda and Chrysler Town and Country. I love the options the T&C offers...video screen, hard drive, sirius radio, dual dvds, but the Honda really was a superior ride. Any thoughts?
A: We had a T&C, had some problems as it aged, but now we have an '07 Odyssey. I absolutely love it!! The Odyssey has options for bluetooth, AUX input jack (for Ipod and other MP3 players), XM satillate radio, and RES (rear entertainment system). The Odyssey has the VCM (variable cylinder management) which shuts down to 3 or 4 cylinders to save gas. I find that the comfort of this van is unlike any other. The T&C seats, especially the stow n go, are not comfortable for teens and adults. I think that the Odyssey is more stylish than the T&C, and it truly does have a smoother ride. I think you should check them both out, and see which one fits your lifestyle. I prefer Honda (currently have 3) and I think they are a quality product. Hope this helps, good luck!
Q: Does any body know when do the 2008 honda odyssey and chev tahoe comes out?
A: very possible at the end of the summer
you will see the chevy first for sure
they both should not change much for the 2008 but your will see lower EPA mileage on both
Q: when is the 2008 honda odyssey coming out?
A: It should be anytime in october. but dont worry, it will remain the same until 2010 with a new model on 2011 so you will basically be buying a pricier 2007.
Q: 2008 honda odyssey?
why is is more expensive now, like by a thousand dollars increase on all the models and now the touring wheels for the 2005-2007 odyssey cost extra.another thing is that ive learned that it has this thing that turns off 2 or 3 cylinders for ex-l and touring but why are they slower now, they used to be 244 hp but now they r 241 hp?and is that noticeable?
A: Well, yearly price increases are pretty much standard procedure, especially with the Honda's.
It has the cylinder deactivate feature to save gas during cruising, a time when all cylinders are not needed.
A friend of mine has one that is about 5 years old, and HIS has 270H/P, so for SOME reason they are reducing power as time goes on. Can't explain why.
You can buy a Toyota Sienna for a LOT less money, equipped almost as well.
Q: Will 2008 Honda odyssey EX-L price come down further?
A: Probably not... at least not until they have '09 come out or they have a big supply. You might be able to still get a very good deal on an '07 EX-L. I know my dealer had '07 and '08 Odysseys 3 weeks ago. They might have them on the lot by you, but you must ask. They want to get rid of the '07 because they changed very slightly( grill, taillights, rims, different accessories). Hopefully this helps you...Good luck
Q: 2008 Hybrid (Ford Escape or Toyota Highlander) vs 2008 Honda Odyssey?
I would consider Sienna Hybrid but I don't think they're out yet.
I have narrow my choice to Honda Odyssey but now, thinking of MPG costs. I am thinking about Hybrid SUV or mini-Van, if there any. Is it worth it to go with the Hybrid?
I am planning to keep the which ever I am buying, near or more than 10 years. Someone mention about battery replacement is expensive after 5 yrs on the hybrid, is it true? Should I just stick with Odyssey?
A: some advantages of a Ford Escape Hybrid is the maintence intervals are every 10,000miles (not the usual 5,000mi). Because you use the engine half the time (drive one and you will see, the engine does not turn on until above 30mph?) it means half the maintence.
To be honest, you would be better sticking to a small compact size car that gets mpg in the 30's or upper 20's. The Hybrid will not necessarily save you money in the long run.
Q: How much should I pay for a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L?
I am so lost when it comes to cars and car dealerships. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are looking at the EX and EX-L models. I have a Camry that Kelly blue book puts at $12995. Car sales are at an all time low. How low will the Honda Dealership go? The EX-L model is $32895. (I still owe $8800 on the Camry) How much should I trade in my Camry for?
I chose Honda Odyssey b/c they always rank #1. My parents owned a Ford Windstar and had to have the entire transmission replaced within the first 4 years due to a recall.
Scratch that - Ford doesn't even make a minivan anymore. At least they aren't anywhere on their website.
A: If you are patient and hold your position HARD, you can get it for invoice or just above. I nearly bought a 2009 Pilot Touring (4WD without RES) for $36,500. MSRP is $39,065 so that should indicate something about the way their priciest cars are going out the door.
Is your Camry worth $12995 in a private sale or is that the trade-in value? Because if that's its trade-in value, the dealer will probably try to offer you an offensively lower number. I believe that you shouldn't accept any offer for anything less than $10k. Maybe even $11k if it's in good condition with low miles. If they won't budge, you need to be prepared to walk out the door. Come back at the end of the month and try again (that's when sales quotas need to be met and salespeople will bend over backwards to get their numbers up).
Edit: Bigbp@ makes a great point -- sell the Camry on your own and get the most you can from a private sale. Besides, not trading your car means less paperwork and hours spent negotiating.
Q: I just bought a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I have two question really.?
First, I am only getting about 15 miles to the gallon. I have only had the vehicle about a month. Will gas milage improve. Second, It seem to shift really hard. When slowing down and the vehicle downshifts, there is a noticable jerk, and I have to adjust how I am breaking. It also shifts a little hard when accelerating, but that is more tollerable. Is the shifting some thing that will get better with time, is it just the way all Odysseys are, or should I have it looked at? I can not find any other posts about this anywhere, so I am wondering if it is just my vehicle.
A: i would say take it in... the milage sounds normal and yes it will improve with time, but the trans is deffinitly an issue.. with all of the new odyssey's i've driven i have never felt an upshift or a down shift no matter how i was driving. make sure to drive the van with the tech so you can point it out to him/her so they know exactly what they are looking for. we have had a couple with bad trans from the factory, that we have cought before the vehicle was even sold and replaced them. sounds like you may have gotten one of them.
Q: I got an Castrol GTX SAE 5W-20 with API certified, is this good enough for my Honda Odyssey 2008 EX-L ?
A: Many newer cars use 5-20 so don't go by answer number one.
Your vehicle calls for a 5-20 or 0-20 oil. 0-20 will work better in colder climates, and may give you a moderate fuel economy bump. Either would be ok though.
This info would also be in your user manual and maybe printed right on the oil cap.
At any rate, I like synthetic oil, such as Amsoil, Mobil1 etc. They have longer service intervals, higher burnoff points, better detergencym less likely to cause sludge etc.
However, any oil (including traditional non synthetic oil) of the proper grade with an ASE certification will be fine.
Remember to use a good filter. In many cases the Honda filter will be the best bet. I also like K&N oil filters, Amsoil or Wix filters, or even Mobil1.
Those FRAM filters etc are crap. Basically Honda, or one of the ones I mentioned above.
My personal philosophy with a new vehicle: Change the oil at 1,000 miles to get out any metal. Run the new oil until the odometer hits 3,000 miles, then switch to synthetic. After that I run at least 6,000 miles between changes, more if the vehicle manual or oil life indicator calls for it.
Q: 2008 Odyssey Navigation DVD?
I brought new 2008 Honday odyssey recently and found that there is no Navigation DVD in the kit. Does 2008 Honda Odyssey comes with Navigation DVD? or Do I need to buy it? What If I need to reset my Navigation system? Thank you.
A: It should already be installed in the DVD drive under the driver seat. If your navigation system doesn't work then you don't have the disc. The empty case in the glove box doesn't mean you didn't get one.
Unless you live in an area that has heavy construction or travel a lot then you will not need to update the disc, maybe every two to three years.
