Q: I have a 2002 Honda Passport that needs the freon replaced can somone tell me what type it uses and where I ca
n buy a charge kit. Thanks.

A: Take to any garage that does A/C work...you will need R-134a type of freon.....R-12 is for older pre 80's vehicle's. You will need the system drained & checked for leak's (the garage will do) BEFORE any freon is added....To anyone with a R-12 system: they make retrofit kit's for R-134a

Q: 2002 honda passport ex - shifting problem?
I've been having this weird problem with my honda password 2002 ex when shifting gears. I had a 127 point inspection a few months ago and they couldn't diagnose or really see the problem, so I imagine the transmission and everything looked fine to them. it's intermittent. It happend only once when I drove it for 8 hours the other weekend, now it won't start sometimes. i start it and sometimes it will say I'm in reverse but the car will shut off before i complete my reverse. i'll put it in drive and it'll show on the dash i chose reverse, meaning the car thinks i'm in reverse. the dash will sometimes not light up at all, i can drive but i think i may be driving in neutral since the car kinda jumps a little. i have to stop the car and wait and then i'm back in business, things are normal. now when i went to start it, it wouldn't, then suddenly did but the dash said i was in reverse even though the stick was in park... they said my transmission was okay i thought. any ideas?

A: its a common problem on the 2002 hondas. check with your local dealership

Q: I have a 2002 Honda Passport 4X4 with a automatic transmission that is acting up! can you help out?
It has 76000 miles on it, transmission and both differrentals have been serviced recently within the past year. the problem is when you take off from a dead start and gun it just a little bit it kinda fells like the tranmission is slipping but it is not the normal slippage a automatic normally has it well fell like the rear wheels are hopping or jerking and shake the whole vehicle as soon as you let off the gas it stops. These are not full throttle take offs these are just barely gooseing it, if you just ease on the gas it run fine and out on the highway it just runs as smooth as it can it is just doing this on take offs. The tranmission fluid is full and looks just fine no burnt smell the 4 wheel drive is disengaged and not kicked in. I am having a hard time dertermaning whither it is the tranmission or the rear end causeing the problem! any and all suggestions are welcomed. this vehicle is not used off roading or for pulling so there is no damage done to it from that.

A: Use only Honda ATF.

Q: A noise at the point of acceleration when I accelerate from a stop, or when I slow down significantly & start.
I have noticed that my 2002 honda passport, 85000 miles, sometimes makes a noise at the point of acceleration when I accelerate from a stop, or when I slow down significantly and then accelerate. The noise sounds like dragging chains. It doesn't always make the noise, but it worries me a lot. When it was still under warranty, I took it to the dealer and they fixed it or at least made the noise stop for a while. Is this something to worry about? I really need some serious advice. (I have bought this vehicle before a month. It was fine when i buy it. This is happening since two weeks. But the problem looks more frequent as time passes.) the noise is like dragging the rear tires...

A: Sounds like it could be your transmission..

Q: Why my car is dragging the rear tire when i accelerate from a stop??

This doesn't mean that dragging doesn't stop at all.

A: your rear brake is stuck have it repair right away or you will spend more
