Q: what kind of bike rack should i get for a honda pilot?
i would like to take my mountain bike out on bike trails. i have a honda pilot. what make/model of bike rack would fit my car?
A: I agree with the hitch mount suggestion. Very easy to install and easy to get the bikes on and off. You should be able to get a 2" hitch receiver installed on your Pilot. U-Haul can install cheaper than the dealership.
Yakima probably has the best racks, but I have a Thule (1-1/4" - 2 bikes) and a Saris (2" - 4 bikes) that are good. They bounce around a little bit, but in all of my travels nothing has ever fallen off.
Q: When I make a tight turn in my Honda Pilot theres a pop sound?
When I make a tight turn in my Honda Pilot theres a pop sound?
It comes from the front stearing area.
Any ideas what it could be?
Also theres a sound when slowing down and hitting the brakes a loud hum.
The brakes are newer and its not the pads sounds more like a airplane.lol I realize how funny that sounds.
Any ideas?
:( im sad not its a 2005 pilot.
Its going to honda for repairs $$$
A: It sounds like the bearing plate on top of the struts have gone out, a common problem on Honda SUVs. Also, the noise in the brakes may be that the rotors were either cut (turned) wrong and they have chatter marks on them, or you have worn through the stopping surface and the airplane sound you're hearing is the pads rubbing on the cooling fins. I'd have that checked out as soon as possible.
Q: Purchase a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander?
Would you purchase a 2004 Toyota Highlander (240km, good condition) that would be financially benefical with no loans, etc...... or a 2007 Honda Pilot (75km, good condition) that would require a car loan and some financial burden long term?
Some people think the Highlander will last at least another 4 years - 350km? I only use the car to bring children to school and their activities and to my work which is less than 10km.
Would love some advice! Thanks!
A: My 01 Highlander has 244,000 Miles on it. I'm going to drive it until the wheels fall off. They are some of the best vehicles out there. Go for the highlander, no payments, no interest, no financial burdens.
Q: Replace a car battery in a honda pilot 2005?
I tried to start my Honda Pilot this morning but it failed to start, I replaced the battery and when I turned on the car it "locked up." The lights were on, but when I turned off the car they went off and the car didn't want to turn on after that. What can I do to fix this? Any type of reset switch?
A: Never heard of a computer crash or need for reset.
Need to understand if you have a security system that is locking you out or if you have a mechanical problem. Maybe you can tell me more about what you mean by getting "locked up". Does it crank over when you turn the key? If you suspect a battery... start the the connections. They need to be clean and tight.
Q: When is the next replacement for the Honda Pilot coming out? Will it have the same 3.8 V6 like the MDX?
I am on the market for a new Honda Pilot, but i am hesitant because i dont want to purchase if it will be replace with a new model next year. I will rather wait.
A: i know that it won't be a new body style for 2008. they're are going to be several trim levels like the accords (since they are getting a makeover for 2008) have now to help move the inventory along i.e. pilot VP and SE (SE model is something they did on the old body style CR-V as well). i don't however know what the new one will look like or consist of.
The new Accord is slated to be the BIG ticket this year.
i drive an 07 and it is a great car!
i wouldn't trust the above links with the pictures. most of the stories that goes with the links speak of how they are testing the intake with that style of front end. honda likes to keep their new releases very secretive.

Q: Which vehicle would you buy? a Honda pilot or a Toyota Highlander?
I am looking into purchasing a new vehicle and it is down to two types of cars. a Honda Pilot and a Toyota Highlander. I need the following. 4 wheel drive good gas milage and a care that looks semi manly and not a mini van. My Truck has 200,000 miles on it and it is time to get a vehicle. I can not get a truck due to my wife having a new model than mine. What cross over would you recommend?
A: Personally, I would go with the Toyota Highlander. I think it has a very sleek and beautiful look. I feel like it has that look where you, as a man, can drive it and enjoy it without looking like you're driving a chick's car. I was actually just looking at Rav4's and Highlander's at a Toyota dealership a couple of days ago and the Highlander is absolutely gorgeous. Sitting inside of it made me feel like I was sitting in a luxury SUV, haha. And, I believe it was fully loaded for $29000.
As for gas mileage, the Highlander gets slightly better gas mileage according to the car's respective websites.
Pilot - 16/22
Highlander - 18/24
Both Honda's and Toyota's have great resale values and neither are minivans, yet have the space of one, but I would go with the Toyota on this one. Looks good, great gas mileage for an SUV and the best part of all, NOT a minivan (I don't like them either)!
Q: what is your favorite color of Honda Pilot?
i'm trying to decide what color would be best to go with. Can you tell me what your favorite color of honda pilot is and why? what colors are the worst or hardest to keep clean?
Thanks!
I'm thinking of nimbus gray. However, my last car was black, which I loved, so perhaps I'll go that way.
It's so hard to make up my mind! Thank you for your views.
A: I currently work at a Honda dealership and from my personal experience the Nimbus gray is the best seller and it looks clean most of the time. The steel blue stays looking clean but lacks much to be desire...at least by me. I havent had any experience with the mocha, I think it is new for 2008 but tan colors like that stay looking cleanest. Hope this helps!
Q: Can anyone recommend a place to get a remote starter installed in a Honda Pilot, in the Cleveland, Ohio area?
Looking for a place to get a remote starter installed in my 2005 Honda Pilot. I was told they are hard to install things on correctly and not to take the car to Best Buy. Any ideas? I'm looking around the westside suburbs of Cleveland and even lorain County is fine.
A: Good question. I am a former employee of 'Equalizer' and 'Prostyle' which was at one point the hottest mobile audio and video place on the east side of cleveland. To answer your question no it is not hard and the guys at Best Buy are M.E.C.P (mobile electronic certification program) which is not easy to obtain. Their tech should have it on display inside the garage. Another good place that I HIGHLY recommend is Roman Chariott. Jerry Roman has been in business for over 40 years and is a very skilled shop. I never worked for him but we have been in car shows together. F.Y.I...dont get caught up in the hype of Viper alarms or Side winders,Pythons there all made by the same company D.E.I and they all come with life time warranties as long as they were installed by a certified dealer. Good Luck you can email me if you need further assistance. F.Y.I... DONT GO TO LEWIS ELECTRONICS THEM GUYS ARE HACKS
Q: Any one here who owns a Honda Pilot?
2008 Honda Pilot. Please tell me about this car. The pro's and con's. I need to make the decision this weekend whether to buy a Toyota Sienna (owned one for 10+years, never had a problem until someone ran a red light and totaled it recently) or Honda Pilot.
A: Well, Honda is the most reliable brand in the world.
Toyota is number 2.
The Sienna seats 7 people.
The Pilot seats 8 people, but gets about 1mpg worse average.
The Pilot is a newer design, while the Sienna was not redesigned since over 4 years ago so it is an old design.
The Pilot also has the ability to tow weight safely and it has AWD and the Pilot is higher so it is great in snow.
And it is easier to park so the Honda is the better choice.
Q: Why does my Honda Pilot smell like antifreeze?
When I am outside of my Pilot it smells like antifreeze really bad. It is NOT overheating or anything. If I go through the automatic carwash it does look like it is steaming on the hood, but that could be just because it's so cold outside. It doesn't steam or has nothing else wrong except the antifreeze smell, it has been like this for about 2 months now. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong. We were thinking water pump or radiator, but it doesn't overheat so we weren't sure. Someone also said it could be the coolant passage gasket.
A: You should take it to a mechanic and let them pressure test it to see is it has a small leak somewhere
Q: How much Honda Pilot keys duplicate?
My car is 2003 Honda Pilot. I lost bunch of my keys including remotes. Duh..
A: go to ur dealers and find out.
Q: I am currently driving a GMC yukon XL, I have 3 kids so I need the space, I like the look of the honda pilot?
We are a family of 5 and I love my gmc yukon but the gas is killing me, its a v8 5.3 liter, I was looking at the honda pilot, does anyone have one with any opinions on better gas mileage and a good riding vehicle?
A: I recently bought a Nissan Murrano, and it has been a dream ride for me and my family. It gets about 20 mpg in the city which is ok... for a car that size. It rides like a dreams and it is fairly cheap for what it is equipped with. We tested the honda piliot, highlander, and CRV and the murrano came out to be the best overall car in my opinion. Good Luck hope you find a car that best suits your needs
Q: Am I getting a good price on a Honda Pilot 2WD EXL?
Hi,
I've been offered an out the door price of $28,300 for a Honda Pilot 2WD EXL. Is this a good deal?
A: If that is w/o trade in, then it is a great deal. It is darn near the invoice price of the car (what the dealer supposedly pays).
