A: you did something wrong, the kit was bad/wrong or missing something.

Q: I need to reset my passenger side airbags on my 2004 Honda Pilot. I had to have the seat removed and need to r

A: I've been dealing with my mechanic for years. It is best to have your mechanic if not a dealer mechanic deal with your problem. I know that airbags can get expensive to deal with, but paying for the fix far outweighs the pain and hurt if you should accidentally deploy the airbags by trying to fix them yourself. Also, it pays to check around. Talk with three different mechanics.

A: this is a note from a Honda troubleshooting tips publication a while back concerning the P1457. It may help Going buggy trying to troubleshoot DTC P1457 (EVAP canister system leakage) in a ’03–04 Pilot? Check for a twisted EVAP system purge hose between the purge valve and the service port on the engine compartment bulkhead. If the hose is twisted, it can cause either a restriction or a blockage. A blockage is easy to troubleshoot; it’s a restriction that causes all the troubleshooting headaches. A restriction can cause the problem to be intermittent, to pass the EVAP System Function Test, or both. It’s a good idea to run the function test with the fuel tank level under 1/4 of a tank (lower is better). A larger volume of air space in the tank makes a restriction evident; a smaller volume can mask the problem. If a twisted hose is the culprit, the fix is easy. Just loosen the hose, straighten it out, and retighten it. If the function test detected this problem, make sure you check your repair by doing the test again after straightening the hose. I also have a pdf of the advanced troubleshooting guide for that code that may help but I can't attach to this post; email me if you want me to send it to you separately. I don't know if it will tell you anything you haven't seen yet but it you may find something you overlooked if you read through it. hope that helps

Q: HONDA PILOT! my mom lost her 2004 hona pilot's key, can someone give me an estimate for price of a new key?
with price including evrything fromtg he original master key to shaping it . etc. THANK YOU!

A: most newer cars have computer chips in them, you need to get the key from the dealer and it will be about $50 if it does have the chip in it, if it doesn't have a computer chip any hardware store can make one for about $10

Q: CD Player for Pilot 2004?
I want to know where can I get a radio to fit my Honda Pilot 2004. I check online on every store and they give me options of a regular CD player, but if I look at my radio in the car it's like 6" high, when a regular radio is only like 2". I don't want to put a cover adapter to close the hole, better I want to find a radio of the same side. Has anyone have this problem or experience the same like me...What Have you done? Thank You

A: Crutchfield.com I've had alot of luck there. They'll tell you what fits your vehicle and what adapters you'll need.

Q: Where can I find a comparison chart for Honda Pilot styles?
I would love to see a spreadsheet on the comparisons of the different years and styles of Honda Pilots. For example: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 LX, EX, EX-L, etc... I'd like to see what variances exist between several of them, such as "this year, we extended the back window to a larger...." or "added sport styling to the...blah-blah-blah." Does such a comparison chart exist.

A: Google consumer guide auto, go to used vehicles, find the pilot, click on full review, and year to year changes is near the top.

Q: selling my used car which was recently repaired after accident - how do I set the price?
We have a 2004 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD with RES (DVD) and a dealer-installed 6 CD changer and trailer hitch. It was in an accident and has been repaired. The repairs were well done at a reputable, insurance company-guaranteed shop. It is clean, well kept and has had all of it's factory recommended maintainance performed. How much lower than KBB or edmunds do I need to set the price of this vehicle to sell? Btw, we've decided to sell for a few reasons. We got a great deal on a 2006 vehicle - and this new vehicle is far easier for my in-laws to access (trust me helping my chubby MIL climb in to the Pilot every week was not fun!). Buying the new vehicle put my kids into a safe large vehicle right away instead of spending the next month or so squeezing into rental cars Thanks for your input!

A: Sell for the most you could get. There is no reason you should take any less. It is the buyers responsibility to get a carfax or do other research to determine extent of repair. I sold a 1996 Honda Accord recently and used Edmunds True Market Value (TMV) price to determine how much to ask for it. This is a good way to determine how much similar vehicles are selling for in your area. My Honda Accord was stolen and when it was recovered the stereo and a few other minor damages were evident. I just repaired the vehicle and sold it. It was sold in two days. Funny thing is that we are looking to buy a Honda Pilot with all of the options you are asking for. We need a certified one though because we cannot get the extended warranty through our insurance company. Good luck and don't sell it for less than market.

Q: Help with my Honda stereo!!!?
I bought a 2004 Honda Pilot. It has an after market dvd player in it. Does anyone know how to play it through the stereo? There is no AUX button so don't know how play it through the speakers. We are able to listen to it through the earphone jacks. Thanks for your help!!

A: get a good fm transmitter and DO NOT HARD WIRE IT to the stereo speakers or you will blow the sound circuit up in the dvd player when playing music from the car stereo plus i dont thank the dvd player amp will be strong enough to use the stereo speakers with out the car stereo

Q: Car Trouble- My car makes a terrible sound when the air/fan is turned ON and when I start braking...?
but If I brake with the air/fan OFF it does not make any noise! At first we thought it was the brakes, but as soon as the air/fan is off it stops. But, the noise is not present until you start slowing down with the brakes! Weird...Any ideas? BTW, this is a 2004 Honda Pilot. Thanks for any help!!!

A: so have you check brakes really there not much of anythings that are to do with braking and sounds but brakes bad....brakes are on a different system all to them selves.... so if you hear a noise when you brake then pretty good bet you have something wrong with brakes.... so if you not sure about how to fix them your self stop driving around its costing you more money ... do drive it to the first shop you come to and have it check ..... first signs of bad brakes you hear it.... you think theres something wrong with the fan then have the fan check but braking and the fan are not connected in any way has to be one or the other.. id bet its brakes

Q: Is a fuel injection service necessary?
I took my 2004 Honda Pilot (20,000 miles) in for a check up today because it seems to have lost some of the fuel efficiency. They checked it out, and recommended a "fuel injection service" to clean the fuel injectors. Would a car with so few miles really need this service already? Also, isn't this something that could be taken care of with a gasoline additive?

A: Its a good idea

Q: honda cr-v or honda pilot?
Hi i am making a decision between two cars I like- either the honda pilot or the honda cr-v probably around 2000-2004 years. How much are you paying for your gas with honda pilot at this point and how much is gas in your state. I am in CT currently 4.35. I like the honda pilot but I am scared to get but I am thinking it would be a good investment because me and my man plan to start a family within next 2/3 years. Any feedback, would be appreciated.

A: The CR-V is fine for two adults and two child seats. It gets much better fuel economy than the Pilot. Figure about 28 vs 22 mpg to estimate your annual cost differences.
