Q: My 1991 Honda Prelude Si is stuck in park. Can anyone help me please?
I pushed in the brake pedal like I always do and the Shifter won't budge. I checked the brake lights and all are working. What else could it possibly be? I just don't know what else to check or try. And I do not have the master key so I can't even try to use the shift key lock thingy. Any suggestions?
A: Make sure you push/slide the shifter all the way to park. Then stick your key in the little keyhole slot on center console right next/by the shifter. Push the key in until you feel it push on something/make contact with bottom end of keyhole....then try it again....Its a safety mechanism on Honda cars...If that doesn't work after a few tries it might be the linkage (shifter to transmission) sometimes they get caught up...Not too hard to fix if somewhat mechanically inclined.

Q: Starting Problems with 1991 Honda Prelude?
I have a 1991 Honda Prelude and it seems when its get hot outside it wont start sometimes. i live in Tennessee so the temperature gets pretty hot at times and i'm stranded in the parking lot waiting for it to start. The car will turn over but its not firing up and wanting to start. ive tried wiggling wires and everything but yesturday it wouldnt start for 5 hours. Finallly after letting it sit for a few hours it started up. It is an Si 5 speed if that makes a difference. If any1 can tell me what it could be i'd gladly appreciate it.
A: Have you driven the car before hand then tried to restart at hot temps. ?? OR is the car sitting for hours on hours then you get in and try to start and nothing happens, need more info please 8), contact me if u need more help.

A: the b21 is honda's outcast motor. it has a B in front but its not really a b-series motor. everything is different about it.
im pretty sure the trans is different as well as the mounts.

i want to get a faster engin for my prelude but i have no idea about that.
A: the best thing is to rebuild it yourself, this cost maybe $300, if you want it faster, if you rebuild it, some rebuild kits come with higher compression pistons which will help but you might have to use more expensive feul. but if you want to swap the engine i would say the vtech, long story short, its basically an indy car engine cut in half.

had it to mechanic he says the gearbox is old and added something to it so the gears would slip this is not working my friend says it is the torque converter has anyone got an answer which would fix my problem

A: In the automatic transmission there is avavle body . This has many chambers . looking like a maze of channels. When shifting the channels have transmission fluid flowing through them. There are check balls and springs in the system . if a spring or ball gets stuck with debree or burnt fluid it will stick.
There are some cleaners that transmission shops can flush through the system under high pressure. Often though the valve body will need removal inspection and cleaning.To prevent future problems change the trans filter every 7.5k -15 k miles , keep plenty of trans fluid in the trans as well as a complete trans fliud change evry 30k miles.

A: if you have the f22 engine then yes you should the f22 to h22 swap is very common and parts are easy to find but you may not need them if i'm correct i think they will both bolt in.

A: Your question isn't all that clear. I think you want to know why it floods on start-up. Computer controlled. Check the coolant temperature sensor and connections. Then check the fuel pressure. Regulator could be failing. Then all that would be left would be a dribbling injector.

I found a Red 1991 Honda Prelude, has 130k miles, 5 Speed, aftermarket exhaust, lowered. Paint is in fairly good shape for its age, BUT when my dad closed the door so we could test drive it, it didn't line up, then it went back in to line. Well anyway, the dealer wanted $2500 for it,
IS THIS A GOOD PRICE??

A: i own a repair shop,and that's way too much for that car,even though the mileage is kind of low on it for the year of it,that's way too much money for it,you know Honda,s aren't the best cars on the road,if they was there wouldn't be a listing here for them on yahoo,because they would never tear up,instead you see a lot of questions about them on here, but id look around some more,i think you can find a better deal on one than that,if you really want that one offer them a lot less and see what the say,because they know it isn't worth that much either,good luck with it i hope this helps.

A: Yup, fuel does not go to the plugs. Now if you had said "no juice to the plugs," it might make sense.

I have a 1991 Honda Prelude 2.0 Si. I was wondering if Pacesetter is a good quality product. I was thinking Pacesetter header with a pacesetter high flow cat. converter and pacesetter catback exhaust. I was also wondering if anybody had any good websites that have good prices and good quality. thanks
A: When shopping for any aftermarket part for your car, you aren't going to find good prices and good quality in the same place.
To quote the old saying "You get what you pay for"
And Pacesetter... you aren't paying very much.
Not to say that they are terrible headers, but they arent the most reputable company either.
If they are what you can afford, by all means dont let me sway you. But there are far better companies out there than Pacesetter.
Unfortunately for you, the 91 Prelude 2.0 Si went fairly unnoticed in the import scene and did get as much after market support as later generation Preludes. So headers and cat backs many be very hard to find.
Try www.nopionline.com , they carry the Pacesetter headers and cat back for reasonable prices, and are a great company for customer support.
But as for finding other headers and exhausts, that may take you a few hours of web browsing.

A: yes it will but you might have to changed the wiring harness if its not the same motor you already have. which on an SI is either the b20 or b21. same shit basically.
