Q: Which type of body kit looks best for a 1992 Honda Prelude?
Just wanted some suggestions on a body kit. Some people told me to get duraflex but I just don't know which style would look better for my car. It's silver and it's a 1992 Honda Prelude. I already have Euro taillights on it and a big custom exhaust. I kind of liked "the invader" but I also like "the spider" body kit. Help any suggestions?

A: the invader

Q: Honda Prelude 1992 Hand Brake Not Locking Wheels?
I have a 1992 Honda Prelude 2.3 L SR non-VTEC (Canada SR is same as US Si). I encounter soft hand brake since I got this car 2 years ago. When I pulled the hand brake, it doesn't lock the wheels very well. According to many manual, as well as technical repair manual, all of them says 6 clicks is sufficient. For my car, 6 clicks and the car can move easily when park the car on slope. Told mechanic the issue, and they adjust the screw to make it within 6 strong hard clicks. I don't like this as I have to pull the hand brake extremely hard. When I press the gas, the car still can move. My expectation is it should be like new car, where: 1) 6 gentle clicks when pull 2) Lock the whell wells when park on slope 3) Gentle press on gas padel should not move easily 4) Average press on gas padel should not move 5) When driving at 30 km/h, or 16 mph, pull it hard must lock all 4 whelels Front brake discs is brand new sport slot This occured since 2 years ago when I first bought the car. Do some preventive maintenance when first got it. 1. Brake fluid was flushed 2 years ago 2. Replaced brake fluid 2 years ago 3. Adjusting nut at hand brake cable just make the hand brake stiffer to pull, but doesn't change the behavior, like easily move when park on the slope

A: I had the same problem with my Sebring Convertible. Best Case scenario, the cable that goes from the handle to the rear tires must be tightened. Another problem could be the pads depending on your braking system. If you have disc brakes all along, then the e-brake uses different pads and you mayhave to replace the parking brake shoes. Be aware, however, that the e-brake isnt meant to stop your car when your foot is on the gas, and may not when it is in working order. Fun car btw Good luck!

Q: Where do you put an air breather on a 1992 honda prelude f22a1?
One of these http://www.andysautosport.com/honda/1992_1996_prelude/performance/intakes/air_breathers/tenzo_r/tenz00127928.html on one of these http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d102/93egsedan/accord8.jpg (not my engine) Can you show me exactly where?

A: That breather goes on the hose that comes from Valve cover to air intake tube. Put it on valve cover, plug hole in air intake tube. You will not gain any thing by putting this on you car. The only thing it will change is the amount of money in you wallet.

Q: How much would an engine swap be on a 1992 Honda Prelude from an f22a1 to a h23?
So I'm 15 and i bought a honda prelude with an f22 engine. I'm not satisfied with the power i'm getting from it So i wondering how much would it be to swap it out with a h23 Would it be expensive? would the engine i'm buy be reliable? how much would it be? Where could i get it done? i have 3,542 saved right now

A: If your going to spend the money to swap you should swap to a H22. Way more power than the h23. The whole swap if your going to use your old transmission would be about 3000. I would not go to the dealership if you went there you would be looking about more like 5 to 6000

Q: 1992 Honda prelude will not shift out of park. Brake lights come on when brake pedal is pushed. I hear a click
1992 Honda prelude will not shift out of park. Brake lights come on when brake pedal is pushed. I hear a click at shifter but still will not come out of park it is an automatic. I had this problem a year ago replaced some sort of gray box mechanic told me it was some kind of relay he also said my keys were worn bad but did not replace the ignition switch or cylinder.

A: I had the same problem with my Acura, it's the ignition lockout switch.

Q: How do you replace the lower ball joint on a 1992 Honda Prelude?
I dont have 250$ to buy the tool, can i do it any other way? Ok were just going to take the whole knuckle off and use a bend mounted press. i have done more complicated things than this, just hoping there was an easier way out. Thanks to thoses who posted useful information. A: 1)take off the lower control arm and press it out using a big vise. 2) go to harbor freight and buy the ball joint press for $45.00 3) use a air hammer with a dead blow tip and drive it out using downward force. all of these have been used by mechanics at one time or another

Q: Which is a better car for a stock oval racing series a 1992 Honda Prelude Si or a 1994 Acura Integra GS-R?
Track is a 1/4 mile high banked oval. Cars would both be stock. Integra GS-R has VTEC. Prelude Si for that year does not.

A: Honestly if i remember correctly the GS-R has a 1.8, which is a torquier engine anyways, coupled with the V-TEC, makes a much better track engine. If you really want a leg up on the competition, get a Integra LS block and add your GS-R head..the LS has a longer stroke, plus the V-TEC will give you better top-end. Then it looks stock. Add to that the fact that the computers are very tunable and there are quite a few Honda transmissions to choose from for the correct straightaway RPM, and your set.

Q: How hard is it to install a front and rear strut bar on a 1992 honda prelude?
Is it really difficult? any advice/? is there any where i can find like a video on how to do it and why is there only two holes on the bar but three nuts on the tower??

A: It is a simple job. You have a universal type brace for the front strut towers is all. I have used only the one piece type from Neuspeed as they have no joints. They are by far the superior choice. Rear under strut brace or Internal, both are easy. When doing the front you may need to jack up one side just a bit to add/remove some space when fitting the strut tower brace but on some of the universal fitting types it won't matter. Unless the uni body on your Prelude is very weak do not expect to feel a huge difference once installed.

Q: Where is the Fuel Filter on my 1992 honda prelude?
Looking for it and can't find it, also any addtional info about my car, (where i can get my check engine light checked, w/o having to pay honda $90, what my check engine light could be, why when my car idles it revs up and down on its own, and how to install a rear caliper bolt, do i need to bleed the brakes to do this???) would be very much appreciated!!!

A: your fuel filter is located in your engine bay near the firewall (close to windsheild) it is black, held by a bracket, and has an angled fitting comming out of the top held in by whats called a banjo bolt. you can go to the auto parts store and they can scan you computer for the check engine codes.

Q: How do you step by step take off a 1992 honda prelude SunRoof?

A: lots of work! 1st push the sunscreen back and there should be a long cover on each side of the glass remove it and it has bolts for holding the glass in place, remove them bolts and remve the glass. 2nd, remove the passenger sunvisor and driver side too, then remove the hood liner for that you might have to remove few other bits in order like seat belt upper mounts, rear parcel shelf cover remove, and you can finally see the sunroof :) once you can see it im sure your able to remove it by taking the mount bolts off and dissconecting the water drain hoses off along with the power motor connection. happy hunting.

Q: Cheap body kits for 1992 Honda Prelude?
Does anyone know where I can purchase a cheap full body kit for my 1992 Honda Prelude in South Texas? If not, then online? A good website where you may have purchased from before? Thanks!

A: i understand that you want a deal, but keep in mind you get what you pay for, if u get a cheap poooorlllly crafted fiberglass one you'll pay for it in the body shop. So i would go to extreme dimensions and get a duraflex, if you dont like their styles, ebay it i did.

Q: my ac on my 1992 honda prelude only works through the side vents?
but will not come through the middle vents, has anyone ever had this problem and what is the solution.

A: the air through the center vents is controlled by a door inside the heater case. that door is moved by a motor in response to the heater control panel sounds like the vent door is stuck or the motor isn't moving the vent door. do you get air out of the other vents when you change direction--does it come out of the top when you put it in 'defrost' and does it come out of the bottom when you change to "heat". if so, the vent door is stuck. if it doesnt come out of the top of bottom when you change you have a problem with the blower motor and not with the mode doors. this isn't something you can fix yourself. you'll need to take it to a competent technician as the dash and the heater case have to come out to fix it. hope that helps

Q: A refurbished engine for 1992 Honda Prelude?
My husbands engine went out in his 1992 Honda Prelude Si and I am seeing if anyone knows of any good places to get good refurbished ones.

A: I WORK FOR A HONDA DEALER AS A TECHNICIAN. ON CUSTOMER PAY ENGINE REPLACEMENTS IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS BETTER TO GET A USED ENGINE IF YOU CAN FIND ONE. WE USE A SALVAGE COMPANY CALLED LKQ.YOU CAN PURCHASE A 36 MONTH WARRANTY THROUGH THEM THAT COVERS PARTS ONLY,BUT THEY USUALLY HAVE VERY GOOD LOW MILEAGE ENGINES. I HAVE PERSONALLY INSTALLED ABOUT 10 OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS.

Q: I have a 1992 honda prelude. How can I tell what kind of engine it has?
It is a non vtec I know that. it does have DOHC.

A: buy looking on the front side of the motor where the tranny connects
