Q: Does a 1994 honda prelude use shocks or struts?
I was just wondering if the 1994 Honda Prelude Si uses shocks or struts for its suspension? And what is the difference between them both?
A: The real difference is that a shock has a pivot at each end, while a strut has a pivot at the top while the lower end is bolted solidly to the spindle where the wheel attaches. A Prelude uses a type of coil-over shock - the parts are shocks, not true struts, but they have a coil spring around the shock. (They're not the same thing as an adjustable coil-over, though.)
Q: My 1994 honda prelude dont want to start. I dont think it the starter nor the battery, what can it be?
Please help.
A: It could be many things... it could be your alternator, spark plugs, timing belt, etc. Best bet is to take it to a mechanic or have someone that you know that is good with cars take a look at it. It could be very simple, or quite complicated.
Good luck!!
Q: Where to find cheap parts for 1994 Honda Prelude?
i want to know some websites that sales hoods, fenders, bumpers, headlights for cheap. any reliable sites besides ebay. thanks!
A: There are a few for you to look through.Hope you find something you like.
Q: What would cause my 1994 honda prelude s to over heat while sitting perhaps at a drive thru or in traffc?
while im sitting in traffic the car will start to over heat. i have antifreeze in the car and atleast 1 fan is running
A: Bad thermostat, $5 part, half hour labor. If you have the tools, the patience and know what you are doing.
Q: How do I remove the bonnet from a 1994 honda prelude?
A: depends on the working order of your hood. If it is stuck closed, remove the lower air deflecter (black, connects the bottom of the air dam to the radiator core support) reach up to the latch and unbolt it, with it free from the car, this should allow you to lift the hood several inchs (or cm) and disengauge the latch fully. If the hood is up and you just want it off, unbolt it from the hinges using a 10 or 12mm socket
Q: how do I remove the headlights on my 1994 honda prelude.?

Q: Where is the fuel pump located on a 1994 Honda Prelude?
A: In the fuel tank...If you take the carpet out of your trunk and remove the cardboard liner, you will see a couple of panels that are glued down. Remove these, the pump and sending units are right under them...Pump has the fuel lines. Before working on the pump or fuel lines....MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY.... You don't want any sparks...
Q: Do I put 93 octane gas in a 1994 Honda Prelude?
How many gallons does it take to fill up the tank?
A: If your car required premium gas, you should be able to find that information when you open the gas cap body cover. It is to remind you (or first time car owner) about the gas requirement. This is something nice to know, just in case you need to borrow another's car and need to fill the tank.
But if you are asking IF you SHOULD, only do so if your car engine is knocking (or engine ping / engine detonation - all the same thing). Even so, you'll find that SOME engines that knocks stops knocking in cooler (cool fall and winter) weather. That's because hot weather induces engine knock and cold weather prohibits it (e.g. air temp).

I can't answer the "how many gallon" question exactly, but my 94 Civic Ex has 11 gallon tank. So I figure you have something little bit bigger than a Civic tank.
Q: Is a 1994 honda prelude si worth $3500 with a salvaged title?
The car was hit on the right front side, from what i can tell thats all that is wrong with the car.it has 113,000 miles on it and i was just wondering whether or not the car is worth that much. i was hoping to bargain him in to selling it for $3000. thanks
A: hey dude wait till you finally get your car and park on the street so people can hit it =). then you'll be in my shoes im probably same age as you.
but on a serious note. if someone is charging you 3500 for a '94 with 113,000 is not worth it . you should be getting it for 2500 - 3000 unless theres mods maybe like new rims.
anyways hope it gets hit by some kids late.
Q: Is the 1994 honda prelude a good car?
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ONE?
A: Any Honda is a good car providing it has been taken care of like oil changes. I've had 4, I trade up every 3 years or so. To me, the best around plus they really hold their value.
Q: What car i better.. Mitsubishi FTO 1994 or Honda Prelude 1994?
Im getting my first car =] YAY! lol and i like both of them but i have to decide which one, can you please tell me which one is better and why?
A: depends on which engine and options both cars have. at the end of the day though they are very similar and its up to you. Choose whichever one you like better.
Q: 1994 Honda Prelude Dash?
The lights in my 1994 prelude are not as bright as a friends prelude the same year..the dash seems complicated to take out...aslo his lights on the spedometer come on when the headlights arent on...is this an easy adjustment to do this to my car, also how easy would it be to get to the bulb and possibly replace it, and where to buy one
A: 94+ honda prelude's came with a digital gauge. and the lights on the gauge should always be on regardless of what time of day it is. it might not be the bulbs that need to be replaced it could be something else. my 94 dash lights up very bright green and they've never needed replaceing. the only thing that i have noticed is that they are not as bright during the cold season.
Q: WhIs my honda lug nuts 4x114.5 and Not 4x114.3? 1994 Honda prelude Si?
I have a 1994 Honda prelude Si and i recentlly purchased a set of rims 4x114.3 which is what many reputable companys claim my stock lug nut pattern are to be. After I relized the new rims wouldnt fit I asked oreily's how to measure the pattern. they told me on a four lug pattern I have to measure from the outside of one to the inside of the one accross from it and that would be equvalent to dead center of each. is that correct? it measured 4x114.5 I would like to know what the deal is with that? Was their a model of honda that came with 4x114.5 lug nuts or is this after market? How can I Either change this or should I even bother and get a new set of rims. Ive already returned the rims with the wrong pattern. Is it easy to change the lugs? Please help me with this dilema. Thanks
A: Your bolt pattern is 4x114.3.
How do I know? I own a 1994 Prelude Si. And that's the bolt pattern I've always used, and all the wheels I've put on it, have fit just fine.
Your bolts aren't wrong. The wheels were.
Q: 1994 Honda Prelude SI Pistons issue?
Okay, to start off...
I'm no car expert so help me please. Car has been making a weird noise for the past week. The car is an automatic and every time I drive and hit higher RPM's before the car changes into next gear....it makes this weird rumbling noise...i assume it was the belts or something....but I procrastinated and didn't look into it...so today after driving at 40+ mph the rumbling noise really kicked in and was really loud...then I hear this knocking noise...I assume the pistons are damaged? I've no clue...but the car still starts and drives...just that it has really no power and the knocking noise is there....help me out here....is this going to cost lots of $$$!? Any advice will be appreciated. So....in the end...never procrastinate! You know your car best and when it's making a noise that is not normal...get it checked out! Thanks to God the 15 mile tow home went okay...im still alive.
A: With out being there, hard call, pull the dip stick and smell the oil,it will smell burned, look for oil leaks the piston connecting rod will break and make a hole somewhere. It sounds like you spun a bearing on the connecting rod. Accelerate pounding noise gets loud and fast and goes away, for a brief moment.decelerate and the same thing, same sound. There are several websites that sell low mileage used engines,I have put in 200 of these engines with only one failure, and they made good on that one.Check out world auto parts. Now find someone to put the engine in.
