Q: Honda Ridgeline?
Can the Honda Ridgeline truck be lowered? Just wondering if anyone knows of a lowering kit, if it even exists.
A: Yes it can be lowered. Other than the clamps, I don't know of any kits offhand, but there are a lot of options out there.
Q: How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road?
I know this is kind of comparing apples to oranges but I am in a toss up between a Toyota Tundra and a Honda Ridgeline. Toyota has had a long history of off-road performance but the Ridgeline is a good looking vehicle. I want to take my next vehicle off-roading so it needs to be able to handle some upgrades as well as some tough trails.
A: Toyota Tundra is a real performer off-road. The Honda Ridgeline doesn't perform as well off-road as the Toyota Tundra.
Q: Anyone else disappointed with the gas mileage of the new Honda Ridgeline?
I just purchased a new Honda Ridgeline, RTL model with a tonneau cover and I am quite displeased with the gas mileage. I am averaging 14.5 to 15.3 miles per gallon. Now I didn't expect fuel economy with a truck/SUV vehicle, but I did fully expect to get within the mileage ratings spec of 16 to 21 mpg. Perhaps even as high as 19 or 20 mpg with the tonneau cover eliminating the bed as a major wind drag factor.
I do love the truck, but the gas mileage is a major disappointment.
A: what a coincidence
my brother was complaining about that same thing
It sure is dissapointing
Q: If you own a Honda Ridgeline... How does it do on gas mileage for you?
I just purchased a new Honda Ridgeline, RTL model with a tonneau cover and I am quite displeased with the gas mileage. I am averaging 14.5 to 15.3 miles per gallon. Now I didn't expect fuel economy with a truck/SUV vehicle, but I did fully expect to get within the mileage ratings spec of 16 to 21 mpg. I do love the truck, but the gas mileage is a major disappointment.
A: I also am not thrilled with the mileage, considering it only has a v-six in it. My city mileage is about the same as yours. I get just below 20 on the highway. I typically drive with less patience than I should though, so I think I would get the advertised mileage if I didn't accelerate so quickly around town, and didn't pass so much on the highway.
I do love the truck, though, especially the ride.
Q: Do i need to buy an extended warranty for my new 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL with Nav ?
I am in the process of buying a new 2008 Honda Ridgeline and the dealer is insisting me to buy the extended warranty from them because he told me that Honda factory warranty (3 years 36,000 miles) wont cover everything. So what do you think i should do, should i buy the extended warranty or can i wait until my car reaches to 30,000 miles and then buy the extended warranty?
A: Its a honda, and with that vary reliable. I would take the money that you would spend on an extended warranty and put it in a 3 year cd. When that is up so is your warranty, then put the money into a high yield online savings account. If you need to make a major repair, tap into it (by now the $1500 or so would have grown to $1800 assuming 4% interest). Odds are you won;t need a repair since its a honda. So then if you keep the money invested for 10 years you'll have like $2200 bucks to put on a down payment for a new car.
Usually these waranty's have deductables as well. So if you need a repair, it will usually end up costing you out of pocket anyways.
Q: How big of a travel trailer/5th wheel can a Honda Ridgeline PU [5000 lb tow & 600 lb limit on tongue] pull?
I need to know whether the Honda V6 in the Ridgeline is capable of towing a travel trailer or a 5th wheel?
A: A Ridgeline will not "reliably" tow anything that sleeps more than 4 people as a rule of thumb. A Ridgeline will not tow any 5th wheel trailer at all. Period. No, not even if you take it slow and easy.
I have seen a Ridgeline tow a rather large travel trailer before, but it did not look very stable, and it was not up to speed on the highway, so take it for what it is worth. You cannot safely and reliably tow anything that is over 5000 lbs.
If you purchase a travel trailer from a dealer, the will not even let you tow it off the lot if the tow vehicle is not rated for the load. Liability and such.
Q: New Honda Ridgeline or New Chrysler Sebring?
I'm buying a new car or truck and can't decide which one to get. I like the Honda Ridgeline because Honda always makes good autos and I like the look of it, but I'm worried that it's bad on gas. On the other hand, I saw a Chrysler Sebring and love the look of it but I've heard Chryslers aren't very good cars. So which one would you pick? I can't decide!
A: The Sebring is a big hunk of garbage.
Absolute worst car in it's class. It scored an overall 44 out of 100 in consumer reports testing.
Sounds like you need to narrow down what you want, first.
The Ridgeline is a good truck, but do you really need all of that space if you are considering a Sebring?
Why not something like a Hyundai Sonata, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu or Toyota Camry?
If you need an SUV, perhaps a Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander?
Q: What are some good and bad features of the Honda Ridgeline truck?
my dad is over due for a new truck and he like the Ridgeline. I am not so sure about it.
A: Pros: Rides like a car.
Cons: Built like a car with a unit-body (not a truck frame), transverse engine (typical of FWD vehicles), no transfer case (don't take it off road), its FWD until the wheels slip, and limited towing ability (because of drive train layout and frame issue).
If you need a car but want to look like you have a truck its for you. If you need a truck keep right on looking.
Q: Do I have to put chains on a Honda Ridgeline when I drive up the mountains in the snow?
In Tahoe it is rumored that state officials still require chains on Honda Ridgelines even when it has 4x4. When does the 4x4 stop working; I heard it was at 18mph.
A: it would be a good idea to have them,,i know i live in Tennessee and when it snow,s here,,there are place,s you can,t go without chain,s,,and it makes the vehicle pull better,,but there is a speed limit when running chain,s ,,i know here it is 25 miles per hour, you,ll have to check where you live to find out for sure,,but yes your safer with chain,s on.hope this help,s some.
Q: Changing Honda Ridgeline tires voids warranty?
I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTL. One of the many things I upgraded at the time of purchase was getting the chrome wheels. I think they are only 16", and they fit in the Michellin tires the dealer supplied. Can I put bigger tires and wheels without voiding my warranty? How big can I go and keep a tire that is still good in snow and rain? I think maybe up to 20", but I don't want low profile tires. Any suggestions for the exact model of tires would be appreciated.
A: you are covered under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)). A manufacturer cannot void the warranty of a car if a person puts aftermarket parts on their car. But if your car breaks and the manufacturer can prove that the part is the cause of the problem then you have to pay.
I would do a plus 2 inch rim size, 3 if the factory rim is quite small. So like a 18 or 19 inch rim will be fine, and the tire place can help you size. If you give me your factory tire size is i can tell you what would be best sizes.
Q: 2008 Honda ridgeline or Toyota tacoma double cab 4x2?
I'm a weekend home depot, go camping, get a little dirty, go to a nice restaurant on the weekend type guy. The Tacoma is fun to ride and looks mean, however the Ridgeline is smooth, more space, but not as fun. Ridgeline has a little bit more power then the Tacoma, but the Tacoma looks more like a guys truck, then a white collar truck. Honda has more interior toys vs the Toyota.
A: I would go with the Toyota, the 4.0L is a great engine, uses a timing chain instead of a belt, decent gas mileage. Toyota still tops the quality surveys, just ahead of Honda.
Q: What is the Honda Ridgeline TV ad music? the one with where the trucks are like cattle.?
whats the background music to the recent (2007, but may well be an older ad that is being re-aired) honda ridgeline ad? its the one where the trucks are depicted as cattle. its got a really catchy western tune going inthe background. its possible that its a cutom tune for the ad.. but im hoping its not.
all replies appreciated.
regards,
asmd.
A: it is a custom deal for the add/commercial
you can modify the Ridgeline to what you want if you got money
all in all, it is a nice truck with a bit of everything
Go to www.honda.com and check out all the trims they have
Then you can pimp your ride
Q: When will the Honda Ridgeline be completely redesigned?
I know they tweaked it this year, but when is the complete overhaul due? I have one now with 2.5 years on my lease and am just curious if a new model will be available by Spring of 2011.
A: The next-generation Ridgeline is slated for release in 2011 as a 2012 model, but I'm not sure if it will be released during the spring. Usually they release new models in the 3rd or 4th quarter...they'll let the public know for sure once it gets closer to the time of release.
Q: What is the best price for a fully loaded 2006 Honda Ridgeline?
When I mean best price I mean how low I can bargain with the dealer so I can get the best price.
A: http://www.edmunds.com/
Q: I have a 2007 honda ridgeline at 120 km per hour down the highway i have a vibration tires all balanced honda?
I own a 2007 Honda ridgeline, driving @ 120km/hr on the highway, I have a vibration in the steering wheel. All tires have been previously balanced. Honda dealership tells me that it is something I may have to live with. Do any Honda Ridgeline owners out there have this same problem? If you do, please reply.
If the tires were bad or had anything wrong with them it should have showen up when they were balanced . I feel that it may be comming from the rack or maybe a tierod end . The honda dealership where I bought the truck tells me that I might have to live with it. This is the first honda I ever owned . Good impression for me by honda .Open for answers.
A: that is definitely not normal,i have been a Honda technician for may years and have seen this problem several times.most Honda dealer have a funky new tire balance that does match balancing with road force, have them match balance the tires and do road force, this will take the heavy point of the tire and the light point of the rim, they will index these points and break down the tire and turn the tire to match the light point of the rim, this will also show any non visible bad tire, there is a roller that comes down on the tire as its being balanced and puts approx 9000 pounds of pressure on tire, and measures any excessive internall run out that is not visible, anything above 40lbs of road force after this procedure is not normal, and the tire is no good, most bigger Honda dealer within any major city should have this machine and will know what you are talking about, good luck,Honda should cover that under warranty, especially if it has low kms, don't take no for an answer,go to customer relations
