Q: does anyone know about the Honda s2000 being replaced for the 2008 year by a new name or car?
I heard that it was a prelude that was taking it over in 2008 but didnt have any internet links to back that up. Please leave me some web links to be able to research this.

A: it was supposed to be replaced by an AWD 300hp car that looked like the s2000, and this car was at the detroit auto show, but there has been no confirmation from honda of such a car coming into production in the us or japan

A: The toughest bullet proof windows for cars are much thicker than original windows. They require more extensive modification than just the window. Also, it's virtually pointless to bulletproof the windows without doing the doors, and preferably every vulnerable part of the car. AND on your S2000, you'd want a Kevlar top. Take whatever the windows cost you (and if you have to ask, you can't afford it) and multiply it a few times.

Q: When will there be a major redesign for the S2000?
Since Honda wants to introduce the S2000CR (club racer) as an option in 2008 instead of an expected redesign, when can a major redesign of the S2000 be expected?

A: I haven't heard, but I recently read in Car&Driver that Acura is doing a redesign of the NSX. I forget what they're calling it.

Q: Will the s2000 be discontinued next year?
I heard that it will be after 2008, but they also say that every year, so who knows? Will it be discontinued or not? I don't know how honda could get rid of their best car.

A: The people at Honda are no dummies. They know that w/o their NSX, the S2000 represents their only icon for true sports car performance. Whatever they replace it with will likely be as/more thrilling & inspiring that the outgoing S2000, a real winner overall. Honda's been working overtime to bolster their ACURA lineup as their prestige brand. I wouldn't be too surprised to see an S2000 replacement pop up with ACURA badging....just a wild guess.
